Background of the Study
Agriculture remains a crucial sector for economic development in rural Nigeria. Kachia Local Government in Kaduna State, predominantly agrarian, has benefited from various government intervention policies aimed at improving agricultural productivity. Agricultural extension services, which provide farmers with the knowledge, technology, and resources needed to improve their farming practices, have been a key component of these interventions. The effectiveness of these policies in enhancing the reach and impact of agricultural extension services is crucial to improving food security and the livelihoods of rural farmers in Kachia. This study seeks to examine the role of government intervention policies in strengthening agricultural extension services in Kachia Local Government.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the numerous government intervention policies aimed at improving agricultural extension services, there are concerns regarding the limited reach and effectiveness of these programs in rural areas like Kachia. Challenges such as inadequate funding, limited access to modern farming technologies, and low participation from farmers may be affecting the success of these interventions. This study aims to evaluate how government policies have impacted agricultural extension services in Kachia Local Government.

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study will focus on the government intervention policies affecting agricultural extension services in Kachia Local Government, Kaduna State. Limitations include potential bias in self-reported data from extension workers and farmers, and challenges in measuring the long-term impacts of these interventions.
1.8 Operational Definition of Terms
